The History Channel program; Modern Marvels aired an episode called Superhighways. The program featured Hawaii's infamous H3 highway. The highway took over 25 years from concept to completion at a cost of over 1.3 billion dollars. The highway was originally built for one purpose - to connect the mlitary bases of Kaneohe Marine Corp base and Pearl Harbor.
I remember the first time I rode on the H3. Everthing looked great and fresh. As I drive thorugh the H3 today, I hardly notice it anymore.
